SOS Malta shall be taking on the status of affiliate member of Solidar as of 2008. Finansinspektionen fick allvarlig kritik och böter från Finansinspektionen i början av april. Bakgrunden var den förvaltningsmodell där Solidar gjort omfattande transaktioner med DS Platforms, ett Malta-registrerat bolag dit Solidars egen vd Roland Johansson har ägarkopplingar. Konkurrerande PPM-jättar kopplas till bolag på Malta. Det kritiserade fondbolaget Allra har tydliga affärskopplingar till de två konkurrerande PPM-jättarna Solidar och Granit Fonder, kan SvD Näringsliv avslöja.

I del 10 av vår granskning och genom Sveriges Radio redogjorde vi nyligen för hur Maltastrukturen användes av Solidars fonder för att mjölka spararna på 35 Mkr under 2016. Premiepensionsfonden Solidar, som just nu utreds av Finansinspektionen, toppar Småspararguidens lista över de absolut sämsta fonderna i PPM-systemet. Enligt Småspararguiden misstänks spararna ha snuvats på över 100 miljoner kronor genom upplägg med Malta-bolag och avgifter via ett bolag på Irland.
